Double Misfortune

With strong determination to qualify for the quarter finals, our mighty rugby team faced off both their preliminary opponents on 30th Dec 2006 afternoon only to realize that to win we need a pinch of luck.

For the 1st match, our rugby guys, with immerse teamwork and good passes, charge forward yard by yard, with Bala eventually achieving a try. This earned the team a deserving 5 points.

Although we are leading all the way and being aggressive for most of the time, we unfortunately committed a penalty during the lat 2 minutes of the game. Not only did this penalty reward a try to our opponent automatically, the opponent was also given a chance at conversion. This caused our rugby team to lose 5-7 eventually.

Losing the 1st game did not dampen our spirit given the fact that our guys fought even harder against a considerably string opponent 2 hours later. We maintained a draw throughout the entire game yet lady luck was still not smiling on our side! The opponent scored a try during the last 10 seconds of the game, and we eventually lost with a score of 0-5 at the sound of the whistle.

But we had done well guys! 3 cheers to the rugby team! Yeah~~
