Victory!

Our netball girls took on Hall 9 in their opening match. It started drizzling no more than 10 minutes into the game. The unfavourable weather conditions however, have not dampened the spirits of the girls. The standard of both teams seem to be on par at the beginning. Defence was tight on both sides and there were very few attempted goals for both sides. Nevertheless, it was a good start for us as we were in the lead by a slight margin, with the score standing at 2-1 during the 1st quarter of the match. Not willing to be defeated, our opponent played harder and were more focused than they were during the 1st quarter. However, they still proved to be no match to our girls.
Our center, huifang was in good control of the game as she manoeuvred the ball with ease, passing it on to her team mates. We had no doubts about Yiting’s(the GA) accuracy in shooting. She scored so many goals that we seriously lost track of the exact number she scored. Sarah, the team’s GK, was a threat to the opponents with her formidable height and quick reflexes. She blocked off quite a number of attempted shots, leaving the girls of hall 9 rather exasperated.
It could be observed that the energy level of our opponent was declining as we were approaching the end of the game. We could smell victory in the air as Sabrina and Yiting widened the margin between both teams with a few more goals in the last quarter of the game. Our team won with an impressive score of 4 – 12! Good job girls! You girls can really play a mean game of netball!
It was indeed a good beginning for our netball girls. Watch out for our netball girls at their upcoming match on 30th December. All the best!
