Lost Expected; but our boys Surpassed Expectations

Hall 6 2 – 1 Hall 15
The past few days of stop start rain presented a chopped up field for the players to battle on. The conditions were a blessing in disguise as although our Hall couldn’t effectively play the tactics they set out to play, it also didn’t help Hall 6 play the way they were expected to.
On paper, everyone expected a win for Hall 6, and we started off defensively, trying to play for a draw. However, we exceeded our expectations when early in the game Qing Wei scored giving us a shock lead. The goal was helped by the bad pitch conditions, which was basically the main factor in the entire game. Mistakes were made, the ball made unexpected stops and bounces, it was quickly turning out into a matter of who would be the luckier team on the day.
Hall 6 caught their break not long after, as they finally managed to erase our lead. A poor goal kick was intercepted by Hall 6, and the mud created problems for our defence in clearing the ball. Hall 6 capitalized and finished venomously.
Our inability to get the ball out of the danger area quick enough was punished as Hall 6 managed to score the winner later on. But we should applaud the finish as their scorer swung a sweet volley straight into the net.
Now it all lies in the 3rd game to decide the fate of our Hall’s soccer team. Good luck boys!
