Mikel’s Penalty Saves the Day

It was drizzling when the game commenced. Hall 15 started off quite well as we were always in our opponent’s half attacking. We came closing to scoring on numerous occasions, with Bala missing one of our best opportunities. Our defence is solid – Nike, Aaron and Mikel did not even allow our opponents to threaten our keeper at all!

It was supposed to be a relatively easy game for us and yet none of our hockey guys managed to fire a shot into the goal in the first half. Both the players and the supporters were on their nerves during half time. Nonetheless, our players and supporters once again portrayed the ‘never say die’ spirit! Our guys were never dishearten by their misses and persevered throughout the whole match. It was approximately 5 minutes from time when the referee awarded Hall 15 a penalty! A glimmer of hope for us! Mikel stood forth and took the penalty steadily and confidently. Mikel’s accuracy had never been doubted and he did not let us down! Final whistle was blown and Hall 15 won 1-0 against Hall 14!
